Season 3

We have begun our third season of wrestling and we are all so excited for this year.

This is Conner’s third year of wrestling he loves the whole aspect and everything about it. He excels in his weight class and this is a sport where he is evenly matched with other kids that are his size and weight. They have a five-pound weight limit +5/-5 so kids are matched by weight, age, and year’s experience. He is off to a great start this year at 4-0.

Wesley is in his second year. He still loves it and has a good time at practice and at meets. He still smiles and laughs while he is wrestling in the matches but he always says what fun it was, even when he loses. He is better at listening to his coaches and he keeps moving never stopping or giving up the whole 3 minutes. He is also off to a great start at 3-2.

Adrianna is so excited to finally be wrestling. She did the summer wrestling camp for the past two years but due to breaking her arm last year could not wrestle. So she is making up for it this year. She is learning and showing no fear as she practices with the boys. She is the only girl on the Lakeshore team and does not back down from anyone of them. She is quick to pick up on the moves and is strong for her weight and size. She is in the same weight class as Conner and actually at the official weigh-ins she out weighed him by 6oz. She is off to a good start also at 2-2 and we are very proud of her. She won her first match by a forfeit (the boy refused to wrestle because she was a girl) Her second match she lost by 1 point. He was a second year wrestler and she held her own and wrestled hard for the full 3 minutes. The third match she lost, he also was a second year wrestler, and she went the full 3 minutes and lost by only 2 points, as he was able to score in the last 15 seconds. Her fourth match was a boy who was also a first year wrestler and she went the full 3 minutes and beat him 12-7. So it was a very good day for her first year first matches ever.

I am beginning to think the only thing harder than being a wrestler is being the mom of a wrestler.
