Conner had his first wrestling tournament Saturday. It was of course an all day event. We left home at 7:15 a.m. and returned about 4:30 p.m.
Conner did very well for his first ever tournament. There were 22 boys in his weight class. He finished 5th overall. Did not earn a medal as they were only for first - third. Conner was upset but he was more disappointed in himself than anything. He has already decided that next year he will bring home a medal. As you know he can be very focused when he has his mind made up.
More important to us was the attitude he had after he had been eliminated. He was upset, got over it, and continued to be at the side of his teammates cheering them on and giving them encouragement.
We have all along been telling Conner the most important thing is to try your best and to have fun. We don’t care whether you win or lose. Conner is driven and it shows while he is wrestling but he also has had a great time and met a lot of new friends.
Do you believe in miracles?
