Women voting

In History this week Wesley learned all about Susan B. Anthony. On Friday to end the week his assignment was to write down three important facts he remembered and draw a picture about each fact. He immediately said that it was too hard and he couldn’t do it. After we talked a few minutes and he started telling me what all his teacher had said about her he changed his mind and said it would be easy. So he wrote down his three facts.
Fact one- Susan B. Anthony voted for president and that was against the law.
Fact two- She was arrested and went to jail.
Fact three- In 1920 women were finally allowed to vote.
After the third fact he turned to me and said, “Mom, what did Granny Lee tell you about the time she was finally allowed to vote for the first time?”
I couldn’t help it and started laughing. I did tell him that Granny was not that old; she was not born in 1920. Conner then piped up and decided that it must have been granny’s mom that couldn’t vote.
