I have not been in the Christmas spirit. It all has just gotten to commercialized for me. People act and are more patient with each other only for a few weeks, well some others are more aggressive and selfish.
One thing that makes it easier is our kids know there is no Santa Claus. So we don’t do all the pretend “Santa” things.
Luke 2:1-14
We were raised knowing there was no Santa and we have decided to teach our kids the truth as well. It is funny to us though to see the looks on people’s faces when they ask “What do you want from Santa?” or “What did Santa bring you?” “Are you ready for Santa to come see you?” The kids always say, “No” or “Nothing” They just look and usually don’t say anything else. Adrianna of course pipes right up and tells them matter of fact that there is no Santa Claus.
People ask me; Why do you do that to your kids, don’t you know your taking away part of their childhood? Well no we are not. We are telling them the truth. Why teach them to believe in something that’s not real, only later to find out you lied to them all this time? What other things have/are you lying about?
Kasey, Conner, Adrianna, and Wesley know there is only one thing you can believe in, no matter what, it is constant and solid, always there never ending. It doesn’t come and go as just another day but stays with you day after day, month after month, and year after year.
Romans 8:38,39
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
