Dinner conversation

Dinnertime conversation is always an experience. The table has become our place for discussion about anything going on and talking about how our day went. The kid’s favorite topic of late has been what we did or went through when we were in school. The following are some highlights of our conversation tonight…

The kids had school today (Memorial Day) as a snow make-up day. They relayed the following number of kids they had out in each of their class.

Kasey 6
Conner 9
Adrianna 11
Wesley 12

We asked Wesley if got a stamp today, Wesley said he did get a stamp. Mike told him that he only got a stamp because there were only 5 kids in his class today.

Kasey then informed us that Maya had OSS (out of school suspension)
Adrianna spoke up and stated, “I believe that; she is so bossy and mean.”
Mike told her well sometimes you are bossy too. Her reply, “Well, I’m not being bossy right now.”

Kasey then asked who has been to the principal’s office. Everyone raised his or her hand except for her and I.

Conner asked Mike if he ever failed a grade, before he could answer Wesley piped up and said, “why, yes he did”

Mike told them that he didn’t fail that his poor old mama just didn’t realize that he couldn’t see and needed glasses. So he had to repeat Kindergarten.
Adrianna then informed him that
1. Nana was not poor because she lived in a huge house AND
2. She was not old!

Kasey then asked just how many grades did you flop?

Mike said just Kindergarten but I spent every summer of high school in summer school and that he spent most of his time in “special ed” that’s why Mrs. R loved him so much.
They believed every word.
